I am a full-time freelance language practitioner with over 16 years of experience working in both English and Afrikaans. My core services include translation, editing, proofreading, and localisation, with a strong specialisation in life sciences and pharmaceutical content. I also have solid experience in marketing, software, and a range of general and technical texts.

My career path began in the healthcare industry as a medical student for two years. I also worked as a medical case manager and practice manager before transitioning into language services full time. These roles provided a strong foundation for my work in medical and regulatory translation. Along the way, I’ve also explored creative fields, including photography and fiction writing, and was honoured to place in a national short story competition.

Academically, I hold a BA in Afrikaans and Criminology (with English through third year), a BA Honours in Translation Studies, and I am currently preparing a research proposal in Applied Linguistics with plans to pursue a Master’s degree in 2027.
