
SATI Bursary
Background

SATI aims at fostering a culture of multilingualism and establishing a tradition of good language practice.
To this end, SATI has decided to collect funds and offer financial assistance to a deserving student of a language practice discipline, particularly in the previously marginalised languages.
Who is eligible for a SATI bursary?
The SATI bursary is available to students who are in financial need. Bursary applicants must:
Work in combinations of the South African official languages
Be South African citizens
Be enrolled at a South African tertiary institution for formal training in translation, interpreting and/or other disciplines related to language practice
Be in the second, third or fourth year
Have obtained an average mark of at least 65% for all subjects the previous year
