2015 SATI Triennial Conference

The South African Translators’ Institute takes pleasure in announcing that registration is now open for its Second Triennial Conference

The Changing Face of Translation and Interpreting

Emperor’s Palace, 64 Jones Road, Kempton Park
30 September and 1 October 2015

Bronze Sponsor: The Language Resource Management Agency (http://www.nwu.ac.za/ctext/rma)

The conference will once again coincide with International Translation Day and will include the awarding of the SATI Prizes for Outstanding Translation and Dictionaries for 2015.

As the world changes, so does the work of translators and interpreters. These changes present us with both new challenges and new opportunities, which will be foregrounded at the conference.

Well-known translator, blogger, writer and presenter Chris Durban is the keynote speaker at the conference and will without doubt inspire delegates with her insights and enthusiasm!

Naòmi Morgan will be the guest speaker at the awards ceremony. In January this year Naòmi received the prestigious French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her translations between French and Afrikaans.

Registration for the conference is open until 15 September 2015. Early-bird rates apply to registrations and payments made by 17 August. The registration form can be downloaded by using the link at the bottom of the page.
